We offer introductory and hands-on training in pain research in WUPC laboratories and research groups to undergraduate and pre-med students enrolled in various programs at Washington University. Undergraduate students are typically trained by postdoctoral scientists, research associates, graduate students, and sometimes by faculty members in individual laboratories. In addition, students are also encouraged to participate in weekly research meetings in their laboratories, weekly pain journal clubs, and seminars by eminent scientists in pain research organized by WUPC.

We also offer summer research training to undergraduate students from other institutions and senior high school students who are interested in pain science.

Undergraduate students interested in receiving research training in laboratories under WUPC, please visit the research portal, and the individual research groups/investigators pages to know details of specific pain research projects that are currently being conducted in our center. Please communicate with the group leaders and/or lead investigators directly.
