Jennifer Pearlstein, MA, PhD

Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology

Dr. Pearlstein attended Truman State University as an undergraduate and received her MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. She completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship and her post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Washington, where she gained specialized training in rehabilitation medicine.

Dr. Pearlstein specializes in evidence-based interventions aimed at empowering individuals to manage their pain and reclaim their quality of life. She provides tailored psychotherapy services focused on addressing the specific challenges of each person, and offers unique expertise in living with chronic pain, illness, and disability. In addition, Dr. Pearlstein provides evidence-based interventions for depression, anxiety, traumatic stress, and other areas of concern. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and supportive approaches.

With a commitment to inclusivity and cultural humility, Dr. Pearlstein strives to create a safe and affirming space for individuals from all backgrounds. She believes in the power of collaboration and partnership, working closely with her clients to develop personalized treatment plans that honor their values, strengths, and aspirations.

Dr. Pearlstein’s office is located within the Washington University Pain Management Center at Barnes Jewish West County Hospital.
