Our goal is to help you provide the best care possible to your patients living in chronic pain. Together, we can help your patient learn to better manage the pain, and not have the pain manage him/her.
If you have a patient whose chronic pain has been a significant problem and not responded to a number of therapies, including the use of opioid analgesics and interventional procedures provided by other pain clinics, we may still have treatment options for your patient; and are available to see your patient in consultation.
Our initial visit is quite thorough and typically takes a few hours. Your patient will be evaluated by our Multidisciplinary Pain team, including a board certified pain medicine physician, our clinical psychologist and possibly be scheduled for a physical therapy evaluation on a future date.
Once this has taken place, our team will discuss your patient in our weekly multi-disciplinary pain conference and at that time develop a comprehensive treatment plan that may include the following modalities:
- Appropriate interventional pain therapies
- Individual or group cognitive behavioral therapies with our psychologist who will help your patient learn to identify pain triggers, develop coping strategies and setting realistic goals for the future.
- Adjustment of current medications.
- Medication management assessments are performed upon request.
